Dream-catchers Foundation was founded by George Longwe, a 21-year-old from Nkhatabay, Chendasi, in Tunduma Village. Born into a humble family, George was raised by a single mother who, despite financial struggles, instilled in him the value of resilience and determination.
George began his educational journey in Karonga, where he completed his primary school education under the care of his big mother. He then attended Peak Secondary School in Rumphi from 2017 to 2021. Afterward, he pursued a diploma in Professional Community Development at St. John Paul II Catholic College.
Currently, he is upgrading to a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, specializing in Project Management and Evaluation at DMI-St. John the Baptist University, at the third-year level.

Silence helps abusers win. If you see digital violence whether cyberbullying, threats, fake accounts, or harmful messages take action. Online abuse is real abuse, and every harmful post or message has the power to break someone's confidence, dignity, and safety. During the 16 Days of Activism, we are reminding everyone that speaking up, reporting, and supporting survivors is how we break the cycle. Digital spaces must be safe for everyone. Let's UNiTE to End Digital Gender-Based Violence In Malawi.

At Dreamcatchers Foundation, we proudly join the world in celebrating International Women’s Month this March a time to recognize and honor the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and girls across the globe.

Dreamcatchers Foundation conducted a mentorship and motivation session at Kanyazuka Community Day Secondary School in T/A Thula, Nkhata Bay. During the session, we encouraged students to work hard and remain focused on their dreams. We emphasized that coming from a rural community should never be a barrier to success. Background does not determine destiny determination, discipline, and persistence do. We motivated learners to believe in themselves, take education seriously, and use every opportunity available to build a better future. The Deputy Headmaster shared some of the key challenges the school is currently facing, including: Lack of strong role models for students . Shortage of hostels, forcing many students to travel long distances, which leads to absenteeism and dropouts Inadequate teachers’ houses (only two available) . Need for solar panels to support students during night studies . Shortage of sports equipment such as balls, netball uniforms, and football uniforms Despite these challenges, the students remain hopeful and eager to learn. As Dreamcatchers Foundation, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting and uplifting young people in rural communities because no youth should be left behind.
We were honored to attend the Mzuzu Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Connect Forum, a dynamic platform that brought together youth, corporates, institutions, and development partners to strengthen collaboration around Partnerships for the Goals and shared impact. The engagement created meaningful dialogue on how cross-sector partnerships can drive sustainable community development, particularly in advancing SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals. It was inspiring to witness organizations and young leaders committing to transparency, accountability, and collective action for lasting impact. As Dreamcatchers Foundation, we remain committed to building strategic partnerships that empower young people and transform communities across Malawi. We extend our appreciation to the organizers and all stakeholders who made this important engagement possible. Together, we continue to build bridges that create real and measurable change.

Dreamcatchers Foundation trained our Chendasi and Muchezi teams in Nkhata Bay to kick-start the No Youth Left Behind Campaign in our communities. The training focused on how to engage with youth, work within communities, and effectively implement the campaign at grassroots level. Our campaign focuses on education and skills development, youth leadership and participation, health and wellbeing, economic empowerment, inclusion, and protection. As part of promoting youth health and safety, we also distributed condoms to support responsible decision-making and help prevent HIV, STIs, and unplanned pregnancies among young people in Nkhata Bay.
